Introduction to the Video Poker Game

Playing a Video Poker Game (sometimes called draw poker), allows you to bet anywhere from $0,25 to $5 per hand, depending on the machine and casino you are playing at. Once you have inserted your money (usually a minimum of $20 in most online casinos), you can choose the denomination with which you would like to bet, and when you are ready to play, just click on the –Deal Draw– button to receive your cards. The whole idea in a Video Poker Game is to come up with a winning combination of cards, but since many exist, for reference we have included some common winning Video Poker Game combinations below.

How to Play a Video Poker Game

You can improve your hand by choosing to –hold– certain cards and dump others, and the cards you choose to get rid of will be replaced by new cards after you click on the –Deal Draw– button again. In order to sum up, the rules or steps in a Video Poker Game are simplified as follows:
1) Insert your money into the machine
2) Press the button marked Deal or Draw
3) After seeing your cards, decide which ones you wish to keep and then press the Hold button beneath
4) Press the Deal/Draw button again
5) Continue this procedure for as long as it is fun
6) When you have decided to finish, press the button - usually marked as –Credit– or –Cash Out–.
In a Video Poker Game you sometimes also have the option, if you win your hand, to double your money in a second round called a –Double Playoff Round–, but if you do not want to play this second round, you can just click on –Collect– to get your winnings. However, the double playoff round works accordingly as it follows. The cards in the poker machine will turn over (face down), and then the machine will flip one card, and you will be betting, in the double playoff round, on whether the next card the machine flips will be higher or lower than this original card. In case the next card the poker machine flips is higher than the first card, you win your bet and double your money, but if the card is lower, you lose your money. In case it is the same card, it becomes a push, and nobody wins or loses, but remember that in order to double your bet in the double playoff round, you must click on the –double– button.
